EM&I ODIN Projects

Industry focus on new ways of cutting costs safely, has helped drive the success of the EM&I ODIN diverless UWILD technology which has gained rapid acceptance by clients, class societies and regulators.

Twelve ODIN projects have been successfully completed to date for FPSO, Drillship and Accommodation Unit Operators including SBM, Vantage Drilling, Pacific Drilling, Ocean Rig, Exmar, Bumi Armada and ExxonMobil.

ODIN is just one new innovation driven by a Joint Industry project called HITS (Hull Inspection Techniques & Strategy), which EM&I are leading on behalf of the FPSO Forum, and new technology for remote inspection of confined spaces and mooring systems are already being proven on operating assets.

EM&I Group CEO, Danny Constantinis commented “ODIN has revolutionised the way that inspection, and now repairs, of floating offshore assets and critical isolation valves is undertaken – reducing costs and POB by minimising conventional diver and ROV operations. Low oil prices are a fact of life and companies such as EM&I are investing in ground breaking technology to provide integrity solutions for our clients”.

    The use of proper planning and risk assessments by EM&I was very important and critical to their projected timeline as all EM&I UWILD inspections were performed during normal offshore drilling operations. All inspections and documentation performed to the satisfaction of the Class Society Surveyor.
