ODIN system

The EM&I Group have patented their ODIN™ system which offers a unique solution to issues in inspections of underwater components and is part of their alternative to the Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking (UWILD) requirement.

The ODIN™ system is an innovative methodology that allows the UWILD requirement to be fulfilled without the use of divers or work class ROVs.

The EM&I UWILD Alternative has already been accepted by Class and they were recently given a demonstration of the new technology which allows inspection and functional testing of isolation valves and sea chests in-service. This new technology gives more accurate, reliable and specific data in critical areas.

The EM&I UWILD Alternative method has been implemented on an ABS classed FPSO in Brazilian waters and is now being applied on a second FPSO as a precursor to a fleet wide application for a major FPSO operator.

Danny Constantinis CEO EM&I Group said “Safety, improved data quality and reduced operational and budget risk are key benefits to our clients in implementing our ODIN UWILD Alternative methodology, especially as FPSOs can now be required to remain on station for twenty five plus years. We developed a test and training facility to trial and demonstrate our latest technology which, combined with some of our previous innovations, such as SNOOPY™ and HullGuard™ gives clients an integrated solution for their integrity requirements and forms part of the EM&I No Drydock Safely strategy”
