The FPSO Forum recently held in Singapore could be the birthplace of a new Floating Gas JIP.

A strong attendance of key players from around the world contributed to a Panel Discussion held at the University of Singapore on the 10th April 2019 to discuss the rapid growth of the FSRU and FLNG market.

The panel included technical specialists who were there to respond to questions and comments on the challenges faced by operators, regulators and service providers.

Danny Constantinis (EM&I’s Executive Chairman) brought a level of experience and technical input from the HITS JIP (Hull Inspection Techniques and Strategy Joint Industry Project) as well as contributing input from his experience on integrity from other industries.

Danny commented, “The floating gas industry has different but related integrity challenges to the FPSO sector and one of our key objectives at the FPSO Forum was to bring together like minded people from around the industry to share information, challenges and solutions. We have already had a good response from oil majors and class societies to attend a preliminary meeting to discuss the JIP structure and objectives and will send further information to interested parties”.
