JIP Success

EM&I led two successful Joint Industry Project (JIP) meetings during the FPSO Research Forum week in Houston from 14th – 18th October 2019.

The first was a new initiative JIP aimed at the floating gas sector, called FloGas, and the second was the 20th meeting of the HITS (Hull Inspection Techniques and Strategy) JIP.

The kick-off meeting for the FloGas JIP was highly successful as representatives from oil majors, operators and classification societies attended in person and others were in attendance by remote.

The HITS JIP continued its tremendous success as there were over 30 participants. The future of NoMan® and remote inspection of tanks was the main focus as developments continue to be made through onshore and offshore trials.

Danny Constantinis, EM&I Group Executive Chairman and HITS Project Director, commented, “I am grateful to our industry colleagues and the EM&I team for making both events a great success and firmly believe that FloGas will enjoy the same kind of progress and longevity in the crucial new gas market as HITS has for FPSO structures.”
